ABOUT US - Education and Training

IMTS was officially founded in 1999 by Jeffrey J. Ellis, MS, PT, MTC, FFCFMT, and provides clinically relevant, eclectic, and didactic education and training to Physical Therapists, Physical Therapy Assistants and Physicians specializing in the field of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy with a "corrective verses palliative" philosophy.

Additionally, through various strategic alliances with private practices, hospitals and Universities located across the USA, IMTS offers all of their educational offerings nationwide. With two unique contractual opportunities (ie. Primary Sponsorship or Co-Sponsorship), IMTS facilitates "on-site" education and training to assist facilities in their efforts to maximize their education budgets.

Current IMTS seminar offerings include; IMD - Introduction to Motion Diagnostics of the Spine, Costal Cage and Pelvic Girdle, LPI - Lumbo-Pelvic Integration (Integrative Muscle Energy technique), CTI - Cervical Thoracic Integration (Integrative Muscle Energy technique), and IPEX - Integrative Prescriptive Exercise of the Spine, Costal Cage and Pelvic Girdle.

Since 1998, IMTS, together with the IPA - Institute of Physical Art (Gregg Johnson, PT, FFCFMT and Vicky Johnson, PT, FFCFMT @ www.instituteofphysicalart.com) has provided a Nationally recognized Certification exam (CFMT - Certified Functional Manual Therapist) to Physical Therapists.

IMTS is uniquely positioned with a distinguished faculty of over twenty (20) experienced, certified, Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists and administrative support personal. The entire senior faculty boasts university affiliations and/or professorial appointments, and has provided over 18 years of successful experience providing clinical education & training programs across the USA. Building upon a foundation of algorithmically based, manual therapy intervention, IMTS offers its students a unique, eclectic, functional approach in which newly learned skills can immediately and effectively be implemented into their practice.
